Jamaica glistens in the Caribbean Sea, a mountainous tropical island ringed by white sand beaches and refreshed by lush forests. Locals call their tropical island paradise “The Rock” due to its remote location and fertile limestone soil that covers most of the island, making it the perfect growing conditions for sugar cane.

At their height in the 19th century, Jamaica’s rum distilleries numbered 140 and exported all over the globe. Only six distilleries remain today, each with its own style.
